The most important thing when forming waves is brushing your hair. Brush it, and brush it often in your desired wave pattern. BRUSH, BRUSH,BRUSH!!!!

For starters you want to get a fresh clean cut

Use your mirror to find your crown behind your head (at the back looks like a bald spot)

Wave Brushing Pattern

From the back of your head: Brush this area straight down to your neck, starting from the crown of your head.Brush through at least 50 strokes. The area on the back sides of your head, starting from your crown:Brush this area down diagonal towards your ear. Brush through at least 50 strokes both side.

On the sides of your head: Brush this area diagonal towards your cheeks, starting from the crown of your head. Brush through at least 50 strokes on both sides

Remember after every brush session to cap your head properly

Caping your Head

After you have finished with your brush session you want to use your wave cap to cover it. After covering your head with the wave cap top it off with your durag. Double caping is a very effective way to save your progress and lock in moisture. It also helps hold and protect your waves.

Remember to cap your head at night while you sleep so that you don't lose any progress

Washing Hair

Washing your hair 1-2 times a week is ok so that you don't undo your waves developing. While washing your hair try to apply your shampoo in your desired wave pattern. Brushing  your hair while you shower is ideal for wavers. Some shampoos tend to dry out your hair so make sure to apply deep dish after you get out the shower.

Wolfing

Wolfing is the best way to get deeper waves. When your wolfing your basically just letting your hair grow longer then usually typically for about 1+ months. You can get a line up while your wolfing as long you don't cut your hair. As your wolfing your hair might get out of control so its best to use a  medium brush and deep dish to help lay it down. You can also use a comb when your waves are established. Longer you wolf better your results.
